How to Add a Custom Thumbnail

Video thumbnails are your opportunity to draw attention to your video. They are the first impression your viewers will get of what they are about to watch. 

Instead of choosing an autogenerated thumbnail, you also have the option of uploading a custom thumbnail. A little more time spent can potentially result in more clicks and views.

Uploading a Custom Thumbnail

Navigate to your Video Manager, select your video, and click on the Video Thumbnails tab.

From there, you can choose from the autogenerated thumbnails or select "Upload Custom Thumbnail."

Please note, you will only be able to upload a custom thumbnail once the video has been successfully uploaded.

Rules and tips for uploading a custom thumbnail:

• The image size must be 640x360px.
• Text, logos and watermarks are allowed but they cannot take up more than 1/3 of the thumbnail.
• Do not add "click bait" or text that is unrelated to the video. Text must accurately describe the actions, persons or themes displayed in the video.
• Actions and scenes portrayed in the thumbnail MUST appear in the video. Ex. If the thumbnail image shows a blowjob, there must be a blowjob scene in the video.
• Fake or deceptive elements like Pornhub brand colors on text, play buttons, arrows or words such as "top video", "recommended" or "most viewed" are not allowed.
• As of May 2022 we no longer allow borders on thumbnails.

Access to this feature may be removed at any time and without prior notice if the uploader does not adhere to the rules above, or for any other reason, if Pornhub finds the usage to be outside the spirit of the tool's purpose.
